The advantage over the design library is that there is no link to the original component.

Although the utility accepts to use components with configurations, it is not recommended to use this type of component with CloneComponents   because the duplicated component also contains all configurations. The "Configuration Publisher" function of SOLIDWORKS will be more appropriate for components with part families.

  


The utility will retrieve the properties whose name starts with "CC_" in order to propose them in the dialog box when duplicating the component. If the property points to a dimension it will be displayed in the "Dimension of the new component" area and will drive the dimension in question, if the property is an alphanumeric value it will be displayed in the "Specific properties" area in order to fill in the value.
