When the user wants to define a field to retrieve the value of a SOLIDWORKS document property, a system variable or simply to define a fixed value, he just has to click on the icon (Add a field). This function allows you to concatenate several values.

This window allows you to select the type of field that defines the value of a property. Depending on the type of field selected, information is available, and an icon reminds the type of field used. It is possible to specify one or more fields.

The fields can be modified:

    • By double-clicking on the field.
    • By drag and drop with the mouse if several fields are defined.

A right click on the mouse brings up a contextual menu to :

    • Just copy a field and paste it at the end.
    • Copy all the fields to assign them to another property.
    • To delete a field.
    • Delete all fields to reset.
    • To force the result in lower case.
    • To force the result in capital letters.
