Once the entities forming the series of curves have been selected, it is necessary to set the number and the interval points to be created.

When choosing this method, there are two possibilities to generate the points by specifying the step:

  • The first option is to click on the and enter the interval between the points. The number cell is then grayed out but still calculated. The tool CreatePoints takes the whole length of the selected curves and inserts the points.

An offset dimension can be set of the first point in relation to the beginning of the series as well as an offset dimension of the last point created in relation to the end of the series of curves.

  • The second option is to enter the number and the interval of the points to be created. Possibly, and if necessary, set the start and/or end offset dimensions as well as the starting direction .

With a possible offset dimension from the beginning .

When the '' optionSpecify pitchIf '' is checked, the pitch variation can be calculated in two ways:

  • Arithmetic reason :

The interval and a value for the arithmetic sequence are specified. The reason is added to the step

Example - the arithmetic sequence for a step of 2mm and a reason of 3, the points will be spaced by 2, 5, 8, 11 ... etc until you reach the number of points to create along the selected curves.

  • Geometric reason :

The interval and a value for the geometric sequence are specified. The calculated value of each step results from the previous value multiplied by the geometric reason.

Example - the geometric sequence for a 2mm pitch and a reason of 3, the points will be spaced by 2, 6, 18, 54 ... etc until you reach the number of points to create along the selected curves.
