This method is only available in the part context. The goal is to create planes by distribution along a skeleton curve according to a step and a number.

This is the name specified in the options which allows you to create the names of the different folders, plans and sketches.

The user selects a skeleton curve, a pitch and a number of planes. If the user wishes to select several contiguous and tangent entities, it will be necessary to use the SOLIDWORKS function ''Simplify the spline'' in order to obtain the skeleton curve. (See example).

The user can reverse the direction of the curve .

The planes are distributed all along the skeleton curve, perpendicular to this curve.

All planes are created, even if the entities to be cut are smaller than the skeleton curve.

There are two possibilities for creating plans.

  • ''Entering the pitch and number of shots'' :
    • The step between each created shot.
    • The number of planes to create. If the number of planes entered exceeds the length of the skeleton curve, there is no message but these planes will not be created.

An option allows you to automatically calculate the number of planes to the other end of the curve (the number of planes calculated is displayed and the value is grayed out).

  • ''Equidistant distribution of planes'' :

Enter the desired number of planes, the function will automatically distribute the planes equidistantly along the length of the curve (for information, the calculated pitch is displayed).
