Use the to add a tool to the list.

Then set the tool options.

Choose the type of tool :


 


The type Application allows you to launch any executable from myCADtools or another application (Excel, Word etc...).

The type Macro is used to call a particular macro function.

The type Document allows you to open any Excel, Word, PDF or image document (jpg, png ...). It is also possible to directly launch an Integration action on the active document, see the chapter : Automatic launch of an Integration action

The type Website allows direct access to a web page.

The type Separator allows you to insert a space between the icons of the tools on the bar.


For all types (except the Separator type) a name for the tool is specified as well as the choice of an icon (most image formats are supported). The icon must be small enough not to take up too much space, for example 24 pixels.

Then for the first 3 types you will have to select the executable, the macro or the document to load.


 


This field is also used to specify the address for the web connection.


 


In some cases you can specify an argument to the executable or the macro.


 


Visibility allows you to activate commands according to the active document type (part, assembly or drawing).

You must specify an .ico containing 3 images (20 x 20, 32 x 32, 40 x 40 pixels)

By checking this option the tool will be launched at each startup of SOLIDWORKS. For example: connect to a website or launch a macro opening a new document with the SmartProperties utility.


 


When the '' optionActivate eventsis checked in the options it is possible to associate or trigger the tool according to an event.

For example here the tool will be launched at each new SOLIDWORKS file. Several events can be selected.

Once the tools are present in the list, they are differentiated by a specific icon:

  • this icon indicates a tool type ''Application''.
  • this icon indicates a tool type ''Macro''.
  • this icon indicates a tool type ''Document''.
  • this icon indicates a tool type ''Web Site''.
  • this icon indicates a tool type ''Separator''.
