• Printer to be defined :

Select the printer you have chosen in the drop-down menu ''Printer definition''.


 


For a selected printer it is possible to set the print margins if you want them to be different from the default margins.


 


  • Paper size according to formats :

For each SOLIDWORKS size, define a paper output size for the selected printer.


 


In this example, a drawing in A2 format will be printed on your printer in A3 format.

- It is possible to define a paper output for parts and assemblies files.

- For other formats (All formats not defined in this menu).

- For American formats.

- For custom formats.

To customize formats, use the '' buttonMapping formats(See below). In the table, the three custom formats are defined by the names C1, C2 and C3.


- Save settings :

Once the definition of paper sizes is done, save these settings for this printer with the '' buttonSave formats for this printer''.


- Definition of multiple printers :

If you have used the ''Define printers according to formats''Select a new printer from the drop-down menu and make the settings for each printer used.

Save the settings for each printer.


  • Correspondence of sizes and thicknesses :


 


- Thickness Mapping :

The reduction of the drawing format (for example if a drawing in A0 format is printed on your printer in A3 format) will reduce the line thicknesses when printing. In this table, it is possible to define line thicknesses according to the format reduction.

- Mapping formats :

In order to print to the correct format and printer, SOLIDWORKS must recognize the formats of the selected drawings. In this table, you can define a width and a height for each print format.

- Add tolerance on width and height sizes, for size detection.

 

For the custom C1 format If your drawing has a specific size: Width 280 and Height: 217, it will be detected.
