The list of materials can be extensive and the selection can be difficult.

In order to facilitate this choice, you can click on the button ''Use filters''. .

The icon identifies a custom property present on at least one of the materials from all databases.

In the example above there are 4 properties: ''Financial Impact'', ''Provenance'', ''Treatment'' and ''Type''.

The icon indicates one of the mechanical properties of the materials among all the databases: Poisson's ratio, Conductivity, density etc...

When you want to filter the display of materials according to a characteristic, you just have to check it then choose from the drop-down list to refine the sorting. Leave the '' sign*'' indicates that you want to display all materials with this characteristic.

Example :

In the example above we want to display all materials with :

  • The property ''Provenance'' equal to ''Europe''.
  • The property ''Treatment'' equal to ''Cemented''.
  • The property ''Type'' present whatever its description (''*'').

This gives the following result: 1 single material 1023 Carbon steel plate(SS)'', among all the bases, meets these criteria.

If you often use certain materials that meet particular criteria, it can be useful to save filter favorites . These files have the extension ''..mcfvr''. These favorites are saved in the directory specified in the ''.Options'' of the ''SelectMaterial'' utility.

To reload a filter bookmark, simply click on the ''Open a bookmark'' icon . These favourites are saved in the directory specified in the ''.Options'' of the ''SelectMaterial'' utility. But this icon allows to open a favorite saved in another location.

To deselect all the filters just click on the icon ''Deselect all''. .

When you have activated filters they are not necessarily visible at first glance in the list. By clicking on the button ''Ranking according to selection'' all the filters selected at the beginning of the list are brought up.

When you want to initialize the list of filters simply click on the button ''Reload the default list''. .
