Starting from a table model, the option ''.Editing columnsis checked by default. In order to be able to customize and edit the columns of your bills of material, you must first check that this option is properly checked:

- or by right-clicking on a column.

- or in the drop-down menu ''.Table model''.


 


When the option is not checked, it allows, by clicking on the column header, to sort the data alphabetically (or numerically) in ascending or descending order.

A project must have at least one BOM and it must use a table template. A template is present by default in the installation directory of the utility.

As soon as the '' optionEditing columnsWhen the ''Add'' option is activated, you can modify the information of the columns (add, modify, edit, delete ...).

On the other hand, if this option is not checked, it is no longer possible to add a column, to modify the case of the information contained in the column or simply to have access to this dialog box by clicking on the header of a column.

Let's assume that the '' optionEditing columnsis checked.


 


''Column typeYou select the type of information that will be retrieved, you can choose from this list.

    

Each time a column is edited the tab icon changes to warn you to save the table model (xml).

The icon indicates that the table is up to date.

The icon indicates that the table has undergone a change and should be saved.


  


When you have applied processing on the document, you get your BOMs defined in your project.

As soon as the '' optionEnable property editingIf the ''BOM'' checkbox is checked, you have full control over the contents of the BOM.

By right clicking on a line you can :

  • Move the BOM component line up or down (the numbering is not updated automatically).
  • Copy/Cut/Paste a BOM line (numbering is not updated automatically).
  • Delete a BOM line (the numbering is not updated automatically).
  • Open the component in ''SOLIDWORKS''.
  • Automatically open a Windows Explorer window where the component is located.
  • Add an additional column.
  • Delete the column on which the right click was made. Check in the contextual menu (in brackets) that this is the name of the column you want to delete.
  • Change the case of a column, change all information to upper or lower case. This modification is not reflected in the 3D document property.


By double-clicking on a piece of information, it is possible to modify its content. These modifications will automatically go back to the 3D document property, except for the properties managed by SOLIDWORKS such as ''File name'', ''Material'' ... You are not obliged to open each component to make a modification to the custom properties.
