How to duplicate a 3D with its drawing in one click with SmartProperties?

Thanks to the tool  SmartProperties   of the myCADtools suite you will be able to easily create, from an existing model, a new model with its associated drawing.

Indeed, from the modification of property values, SmartProperties will calculate a new name and will propose to the user to generate a new 3D document by managing the duplication of its associated drawings.

The reference link of the new drawing will then be automatically modified to the new 3D model.

In the example below, we use the default SmartProperties input mask, present during the installation of myCADtools. In addition, our file has an associated drawing.

First of all, our 3D model was named automatically with SmartProperties.

In our SmartProperties setup, the FILE_NAME property is used as a reference for naming files.

This means that when this property is modified a new name will be calculated and a duplication of the file will occur.

To do this, go to the SmartProperties parameters and then to "ParametersAutomatically rename the document". Then check the option "Automatically rename the document with a property value" and indicate the name of the property.

If you run SmartProperties again, it retrieves the values of the properties that were applied when the file was created.

In this case, we will modify the counter by adding an "Indicer" button which will allow us to change its value.

This same counter number is used to create the value of our "FILE_NAME" property. The tool will then detect the change in value of the "FILE_NAME" property and will open the duplication dialog box.

In this dialog box, you just have to check the option "Copy the associated drawing" in order to duplicate the 2D:
