In a context of surface work,  SOLIDWORKS   does not propose any solution for ''cutout'' of surfaces. It is possible to sew several surface bodies together to form a single one, but the reverse is not directly possible.

It is necessary to go through several manipulations using different functions  SOLIDWORKS :

  • Duplicate the surfaces that you wantdetachYou can select all of them and use either the sewing function or the surface offset function by forcing an offset value of 0 mm.
  • Hide the resulting surface body that is superimposed on the original body.
  • Delete the duplicated faces on the original body by selecting them all again.
  • Make the created surface body reappear.

The objective of the utility is to provide the user with an interface that allows him to perform all these functions automatically and transparently.

Attention : when the 3D model evolves, there is no automatic update of the geometries from the tool. To update the information, simply restart the tool.

The interface offers two modes of ''.cutout'' :

As you make selections, the  UnsewBody   shows you the number of bodies created.

It is possible to adjust some  options.

Naming of bodies   A name is automatically assigned to the bodies created. These bodies are stored in a folder also named.
