How can I force a component to be inserted into a BOM?

In your SOLIDWORKS designs, library items (screws, hardware, etc.) can quickly weigh down the graphics and slow down reconstruction times, but this information is indispensable in your BOM.

It is also not easy to add components without geometry (e.g. paint, oil, lubricant, etc.) with the necessary information in the BOM (quantity, item code, etc.).

Thanks to the BomComponents you can insert a virtual component without its geometry by defining the quantity to be displayed in the BOM.

To get the right information, selecting a library component allows you to choose the configuration to be used, and duplicates document and configuration-specific properties in the virtual document inserted in the assembly.

It is also possible to launch the SmartProperties tool during validation, if you wish to modify properties.
