In SOLIDWORKS documents, properties can be assigned to the document and/or to specific configurations.

In this options window, we define the context in which properties will be read or applied.


 


  • "Reading properties" :

For example, we will test the properties on the "Clearance"if it exists.

Properties can be read on the active configuration and on the document if the property is absent from the active configuration.


  • "Applying properties" :

For example, we will apply the properties to the "Open position"if it exists.


This can be very useful for retrieving properties from one configuration and switching them to another.
