PDMSearch Options
- 'Activate the tool in the context menu'
This option allows you to activate the tool and make it available in the context menu of Windows Explorer.
Search options :
- Case sensitive in text variables
This option is useful if the Display the list of possible variable values is unchecked, in this case the user will have to enter the variables to be searched for respecting the case.
- Definition of access rights :
This window allows the administrator to grant rights according to the groups defined in . For example, users in the group Designers will only be able to view and use search favorites specified as audiences.
- 'View the PDMSearch screen'
If this option is not checked, users belonging to this group will not be able to launch any search (the tool PDMSearch will not launch). The following options are not useful.
- 'View and use public bookmarks'
If this option is checked users belonging to the group will be able to use all public favorites. Otherwise the user will only see his private bookmarks and therefore the following option must be unchecked.
- 'Add, modify or delete public searches'
By unchecking this box users belonging to this group, for which this option is unchecked, will only be able to use public searches and have full access to their private bookmarks.
- Search Result :
This window allows you to define the columns that will be displayed. Each column points to a variable defined in the vault. The added variables are selected from a drop-down list to validate the selection.
When a column is to be deleted, simply select the header and press .
The user can also reorder the positioning of the columns by a simple drag and drop with the mouse (as in Excel type tables).
Variables in square brackets [x] are system variables, their content will not be visible in the list proposed in the interface for creating favorites.
- Bookmark management :
Favourites are searches that have been initiated by users and stored for later reuse.
This window lists the different searches that have been created by all users, whether public searches (visible to all) and/or private searches (visible only to the user who created the search in private mode).
It is only a list, only the deletion of a search is possible. Select the search and click on the icon .
