Import processing is performed by a scheduled PDM task, or via the user's context menu.

The scheduled task scans the exchange platform folder for files at regular intervals and processes them as soon as it finds one.

The name of the files to be processed from the ERP is not imposed.

On the other hand, these files must contain a code identifying them, making it possible to know the type of information contained, and therefore the processing to be carried out.

For attribute change

In this case, PDM Gateway processes changes to information from the ERP to impact document attributes in PDM.

The files received are deposited by the ERP on the exchange platform.

They shall be constituted as follows:

  • Code identifying the type of processing: "Import_Attributes".
  • Indicate the document(s) concerned: document identifier and configuration identifier (optional)
  • The values changed in the ERP system so that they are updated in PDM

Updating variables in documents can be done with or without versioning.

For the creation of a new document :

In this case, PDM Gateway creates documents in PDM that correspond to materials that exist in the ERP system and are absent in PDM.

The files are deposited by the ERP on the exchange platform.

They shall be constituted as follows:

  • Code identifying the type of processing: "Import_Attributes".
  • Indicate the document(s) concerned: document identifier and configuration identifier (optional)
  • The type of the file to be created
  • The PDM folder where the documents will be created
  • List of attributes and associated values for updating the data map of the document to be created.

For changing the status of a document :

In this case, PDM Gateway retrieves information about status changes in the ERP to impact them in PDM.

The files received are deposited by the ERP on the exchange platform.

They shall be constituted as follows:

  • Code used to identify this type of file: "Import_Perimes".
  • Indicate the document(s) concerned

Updating the relevant document(s) in PDM results in a change of status.

It should be noted that the transition to the final state must be possible in PDM, i.e. there must be a direct transition between the current state of the document concerned and the destination state.
