In certain sectors of activity, the notion of colour is very important and must respect very precise standards.

These colours, or appearances, all correspond to a very specific coding based on the combination of the three basic colours red (R), green (G), blue (B). Each code is expressed by a number between 0 and 255. The dosage of each of the primary colors allows to obtain the desired color. A site allows you to create your own colors http://www.toutes-les-couleurs.com/code-couleur-rvb.php.

The swatches are stored in "xml" format files. After the installation of the myCADtools setup, the backup directory of these files is located in the installation folder of the tool  ColorChart.

If the files are located in another directory, it is possible to select it by clicking on the .

These files can be modified and customized by the user and can be edited by a text editor such as "Notepad++" for example.

It is necessary to respect the following structure:

- Colour chart

- FamilyA

NuanceA1

NuanceA2

....

- FamilyB

NuanceB1

NuanceB2

....

For each family and each shade, the following information must be defined:

* The identifier or code.

* The name in three languages: French (fr), English (en), German (de).

* The RGB combination (e.g. 205,164,52).

Translations are not mandatory, in this case the French name is displayed.

Several sites propose the standardized colors (ex: http://www.couleursral.com/ for the RAL colour chart).
