This frame allows you to define a list of profiles and to fill in all the elements to be cut. To access this window, use the icon .

It is also possible to open an already saved project with the icon .

  • Adding items

- Add items manually :

Click on the icon allows you to add items to the list of flows.

Once the element is added, you must double-click in the column ''.Profileto display the drop-down menu with the list of profile bases.

If you have multiple profile databases (multiple .csv files), they will all appear in the drop-down menu.

Select the desired profile and change the ''.Length'' and the ''QuantityYou can do this by double clicking on the corresponding columns.

- Adding elements from a welded table :

The '' iconImport a SW table'' allows to create a project by recovering the elements of a table of mecano-welded SOLIDWORKS.

See the paragraph ''Creating a project from a table''.

  • Add a color

It is also possible to apply a color to the marker:

  • By double clicking on the corresponding cell.
  • By selecting several markers then "Right click", "Selection" and then "Change color".

It is also possible to randomly assign a color based on :

  • the cup

  • of the profile

This color will then appear in the report for more visibility on the cuts.

Click again on the '' iconAdd a flow to the project'' to add a new element.

It is possible to change the columns defined in CuttingOptimizationSee the paragraph ''Column management''

  • Dimensioning of angles

It is possible to define a cutting angle for each profile. The value will depend on the option selected in the '' partMachine & bar''.

The ''cuts''Left angle'' and ''Right angle'' are defined according to the following rule:

  • Positioning

When using angled cuts, it is possible to specify the orientation of the profile.

To specify an orientation, select the profile and check the '' option.Specify orientation''.

- The drop-down menu allows you to select the type of profile.

These images are located in a sub-folder in the installation directory, you can add more if the list does not suit you.

- The icons allow the rotation of the selected profile.

- The design represents the blade.

Creating a profile orientation image.

You can create your own profile images.

For example we will create the icon for an APORE_angle profile.

To do this you need to follow these steps.

  1. Put the shape in an application (Example SOLIDWORKS).
  2. Colour the side to be shown in black.
  3. Make the capture as square as possible, close to 100 pixels on a side. On the other hand it is necessary to leave a white band all around the black object. Here we have materialized the edges of the image by a rectangle which must not be present in your image. That is to say that the object is 80x80 pixels which leaves 10 pixels all around.
  4. In an image editor, if necessary, resize to 100x100 pixels.
  5. Save the image in PNG format in the :

C:\Users\<Name>Documents\myCADtools\CuttingOptimization\fr\Sections --> for the French version

C:\Users\<Name>Documents\myCADtools\CuttingOptimization\enSections --> for the English version

This new profile will be available in the "Profile type" drop-down menu.
