How do I duplicate library files when inserting them into SOLIDWORKS?
When using CloneComponents, you have three options for the location of inserted components:
- Do not duplicate: the component will always be referenced to the library element.
- Create a virtual component, with the option of renaming it.
- Duplicate the component in a specific directory or in the assembly folder.
Rename - To avoid creating duplicate file names, you can rename them automatically during insertion (adding a counter, for example), modify dimensions or launch SmartProperties automatically after component insertion.
