Generating points on a series of curves
As long as the selected elements are contiguous (but not necessarily tangential), the following selections can combine :
- 2D sketch lines, arcs and curves.
- 3D sketching lines, arcs and curves.
- Volumetric or surface edges.
By clicking on the reverses the direction (start or end) of point generation on selected entities .
The arrow is positioned on the first point and its direction follows the vector formed by the first 2 points. This direction can therefore change according to the selected entities, the number of points or the specified step.
If a selected element is not contiguous with the previous one, a message informs the user.
The selection mode uses the mode available in SOLIDWORKS, i.e. selection by lasso or selection frame, tangency selection etc...
As soon as an element is added to the selection, the total length is calculated for information purposes. .
If a previously selected entity is selected again, it is removed from the list. If the re-selected entity is inside the list of entities, the tool also deletes all entities following it:
In the example above, if we select the '' entity againArc1@Esquisse3D1'', then all subsequent entities are also deleted (Spline1@Esquisse3D1, Edge<1>, ...).
By default, points are created in a 3D sketch. If 2D sketch entities (arcs, segments, etc.) are selected, the user can choose to create points in a 2D sketch. Points are created with a constraint of coincidence with the curve to which they belong.
Before confirming the operation, the distribution method must be set:
