How do I retrieve the profile list from a 3D?

With the new myCADtools 2022 SP1 version, you can now use the tool to CuttingOptimizationThis allows you to retrieve profile information directly from a 3D file.

This allows you to select one or more files, as well as one or more bodies. This feature will also give us a better analysis of the geometry, and therefore more precise information on angles and cuts. Thanks to the cut information read directly from the geometry, CuttingOptimization now nests the cuts, angle permitting.

To import welded elements from a 3D file, click on the icon . This window appears:

You can then select your Part/Assembly file in your SOLIDWORKS window, or directly select the bodies you wish to retrieve. They will appear in the profile selection window.

For the selection, you can choose between :

Retrieve the active file by clicking on the icon

Before generating the list, you can modify the quantity:

Once you've made your selection, click on the to generate the profile list:

Once the list has been generated, you can modify the profile and activate the preview window:

By pressing the ApplyYou'll find your items in your debit list.
