• Printer to be defined :

Select the printer you have chosen from the drop-down menu ''Printer definition''.


 


For a selected printer, you can set the print margins if you wish them to be different from the default margins.


 


  • Paper size for different formats :

For each SOLIDWORKS format, define a paper output size for the selected printer.


 


In this example, a drawing in A2 format will be output on your printer in A3 format.

- Paper output can be defined for parts and assembly files.

- For other formats (All formats not defined in this menu).

- For American formats.

- For customized formats.

To customize formats, use the '' button.Mapping formats(See below). In the table, the three custom formats are defined by the names C1, C2 and C3.


- Save settings :

Once you have defined the paper sizes, save the settings for this printer using the '' button.Save formats for this printer''.


- Defining multiple printers :

If you have used the ''Defining printers by format''Select a new printer from the drop-down menu and make settings for each printer used.

Save settings for each printer.


  • Size and thickness matching :


 


- Mapping thickness :

Reducing the format of the drawing (for example, if an A0 format drawing is printed on an A3 format printer) will reduce the line thickness when printed. In this table, you can define line thicknesses according to format reduction.


 


To modify this table, uncheck the option .


- Mapping formats :

SOLIDWORKS must recognize the formats of the selected drawings in order to print them out in the correct format and on the correct printer. In this table, you can define a width and height for each print format.

 

 


Modify columns'' Width'' and ''Height''.

- A new format and its size can be added manually.

 


- Add tolerance on width and height sizes, for format detection.

 

For custom C1 format If your drawing has a specific size: Width 280 and Height: 217, it will be detected.

After each table modification, save with the '' button.Register''.
