General options
- Location of backup files :
Selects the folder in which the settings backup file and the printer format backup file are stored. By default, these files are located in the PowerPrint utility installation folder.
Click on the to select a folder.
- Document selection :
- Keep the list of documents for future use:
This option saves the list of selected documents, for reuse the next time the utility is launched.
- Close all documents before processing:
This option automatically closes all open documents in SOLIDWORKS before printing.
- Document operations :
- Rebuild documents on opening:
This option launches a reconstruction when each selected document is opened.
- Zoom to full screen :
This option allows you to zoom in on each selected document before printing.
- Loading documents in view-only mode :
This option opens all selected documents in single view.
- Save document after printing :
This option saves all selected documents after printing.
- Switch drawing views to high quality :
This option enables the SOLIDWORKS ''High quality'' option to be enabled on the views of all selected drawings.
- Test the validity of the views (wait for reconstruction to finish when opening) :
This option allows you to start printing only when you have finished rebuilding the selected drawings.
- Use a time delay after opening the plan :
This option adds a delay to the opening of drawings.
In this example, drawing printing will start 10 seconds after each drawing has been opened.
This allows SOLIDWORKS (for large assembly drawings) to fully load the drawing before printing.
- PDF options (SW2007 onwards) :
This frame contains the SOLIDWORKS options for PDF export.
- Export PDF in color :
This option exports PDFs in color.
- Embed fonts :
Font definition becomes an integral part of the document, which increases file size but ensures that fonts are defined as in the original document.
- High quality :
Export PDF in high quality.
- Print header/footer :
This option allows you to use the header and footer specified in (File, Print, Header/Footer).
- Use the specified printer line thicknesses:
When this option is disabled, the printer's default line thicknesses are used.
- TIF options (from SW2007) :
- Type of image :
Select the desired image type from the drop-down menu.
- Compression mode :
Select the desired compression type from the drop-down menu.
- Packbits: This option generates the smallest color image size.
- Fax group 4: This option generates the smallest file size, but can only be used for black & white images.
- Screenshot:
This option captures the image at the same resolution as the screen.
- Print capture :
Activates the print capture options ''For drawings'' (See these options below).
- For drawings :
These options are used when the "Print capture" option is checked.
- Select a value for image quality in dots per inch from the drop-down menu. The higher the value, the better the image quality.
- Fit to sheet format: The image adapts to the sheet format of the selected documents.
- Use format defined in SOLIDWORKS TIF export options: Retrieve SOLIDWORKS options.
