Assembly files or folders containing 3D files can be selected directly.


 


There are 2 possible assembly selections:

  • Component selection in the active SOLIDWORKS window.  
  • Select one or more components from a Windows Explorer window.  


For each document selected, you can specify the quantity, the configuration to be analyzed, and the various plan search options.


  

  • You can search for layouts using the search base entered in the FindDocument.
  • You can search for drawings in the 3D document folder.
  • Drawings can be searched within a specific folder, and extended to subfolders. By checking theWith subfolders"In this case, all files contained in the sub-folders of the selected component are taken into account.


 


For folder selection, you can select one or more folders in Windows Explorer from which the SmartBom tool will list all documents. To do this, click on the .

The "File recursionThe "sub-folders of selected folder(s)" function allows you to analyze the sub-folders of the selected folder(s).



The tool SmartBom is now connected to PDM, provided you have a myPDMtools license. This means you can select folders directly from a PDM vault, and the plan search is automatic.
