SmartProperties allows you to create input templates for each type of document. These templates are saved in XML format files.

By default, there is one XML file per document type (part, assembly, drawing, welded). The location of these files can be configured in l'Parameter tab\Replacement of XML files.

From the "File" menu, you can Open/Save or create new XML parameter files without leaving the interface.

Of course, the name doesn't really matter, and if you need to use the same input mask for both part and assembly documents, simply specify the same XML file in l'Parameter tab\Replacement of XML files.

The dialog box has 3 tabs.

Whatever the document to which the properties are applied, the description of the 3 tabs is the same.

In this manual, we'll take the example of customizing the input mask for parts.

  • The first tab ''Properties'' corresponds to the input mask settings.

The purpose of this customization is to automatically generate files in ''xml'' format for each of the environments:

- ''SmartProperties_prt.xml'' for parts documents.

- ''SmartProperties_asm.xml'' for assembly documents

- ''SmartProperties_drw.xml'' for drawing documents

- ''SmartProperties_Feat.xml'' for mechanically welded files

- Etc ...

Save these files in the directory of your choice.

  • The second tab ''Contents properties'' allows the creation of Windows properties
  • The third tab ''Parameters'' allows general utility settings SmartProperties where you'll find all the tool's options.
