The button opens the window for creating and configuring meters.


Add a counter.


 

The buttonallows you to add a counter.


 


Confirm with the the counter appears in the drop-down menu.


 


Delete a counter.

The button allows you to delete a counter.


Select the meter you want to delete from the drop-down menu and click the button .

 


Confirm the message to clear the counter.


 


Rename a counter.

The button allows you to rename a counter.


Select the counter to be renamed and click on the button .


 


Change the name and click the OK button to confirm.

The value used for file numbering generally follows the rules established when the counters were created.

It may be helpful to skip a certain number of items, for example, to postpone part of a project or to outsource part of a project.


General Options.

The button allows you to set the general options.


 


The counters can be stored either in an XML file or in an SQL database


XML file:

Location of the XML file containing the counters:


 


This setting allows you to specify the location of the XML file containing the counters.

If the XML file is moved (for example to a server), you can define its new location with the .


Options .


 


This option allows you to create a .csv file (one per meter) containing the history of the values used in the meters.

By default, this file is saved in the “SmartCounter logs” folder, which is located in the SmartProperties installation folder.


SQL Database .

SmartCounter can also be used with an SQL database


 


You must then enter the location and the SQL login credentials

The following buttons allow you to import or export your SmartCounter database:


 


  • To import an XML file into the SQL database, simply select the XML file you want to import:


 


  • Export the database to SQL format, specify the location, and name the XML file to be saved:


 


A confirmation message will appear indicating that the file has been saved successfully:


 


Warning: The SQL license delivered with PDM does not allow you to create another database. You must use another instance with e.g. SQL Express Edition.


Note: It is not possible to create a file containing the history of values retrieved using the SQL Base option.


Options:

By checking this option, you can keep a record of the meter readings taken.
