When transitioning between file states, it is often necessary to add a watermark to the associated PDF files.



Sometimes a document that has been validated must be returned to the "Modification" status.


 


It's a hassle to use SOLIDWORKS and DocPublication to add a "In Revision" stamp.


With TaskActions' StampPDF feature,you can apply the stamp directly to the PDF file.


 


To add a stamp, simply create a PDM task and use the myPDMtools TaskActions tool:



We're now going to add a StampPDF operation



All you need to do is configure a stamp that can use plain text linked to PDM variables or, more simply, an image:


 


This option automatically locates the associated PDF files; you simply need to specify the path relative to the source file.



Once the task has been configured to run automatically during a file transition, all you need to do is add an action to the desired transition in the workflow:
