Operating diagram
The following diagram explains how PDM Gateway works when the tool processes returns from the ERP.
When the option is enabled, PDM Gateway will wait for a response file from the ERP to complete the requested job.
It will scan a Windows folder containing the file(s) generated by the ERP.
These files in XML format contain information from the ERP on the status of each article creation or update.
They may also have variable values to update in PDM.
Depending on the status contained in the return file, the PDM Gateway task status will be either successful or unsuccessful.
If the response file is not placed in the exchange folder within the time allowed by the ERP, the task is failed.
If returns processing is activated for materials AND BOMs, PDM Gateway will perform the following actions:
1 - Sending Article information to ERP
2 - Waiting and processing of the ERP return file for items
3 - If no error is detected on the return of the items, PDM Gateway exports the BOM information to the ERP.
4 - Waiting and processing of the ERP return file on BOMs.
