• Edge annotation :

In the case of edge annotation, the attachment line used is the one defined in the SOLIDWORKS document options.

Simply enter the tolerance values and select a vertex to hang the annotation, which will be positioned immediately. The annotation can be repositioned once the tool has been closed (Modification / Editing).

  • General annotation :

In the case of a general annotation, the tie line and complementary geometries are drawn directly in the annotation.

This annotation sets general tolerances on undefined edges.

The annotation is placed wherever the cursor is positioned and will never be attached to a vertex.

    • General annotation applicable to all edges.

Drawing of an attachment line and an inner corner containing the tolerance.

    • General annotation applicable to all external edges.

Drawing of an attachment line and an inner angle containing the tolerance, as well as an outer angle hooked onto the arrow of the attachment line.

    • General annotation applicable to all inner edges.

Drawing of an attachment line and an inner corner containing the tolerance, as well as an inner corner hooked onto the arrow of the attachment line.

    • Exception to general edge indications.

If, as part of a general indication, it is necessary to make it clear that another edge condition is required elsewhere in the drawing, an additional indication must appear in brackets.
