Concerning the choice of the type of strafing Number of stones + Diameter we can intervene on some parameters.

The distribution of the stones can be calculated on the total length of the curve or on a custom fixed length. The user can also play with the positioning of the first and/or the last stone in relation to the ends of the curve by specifying Conditions at the extremities (a red arrow indicates the direction).

This combination can be done on an open or closed geometry.

Then you just have to select the size, the shape of the stone, the offset of the stone table in relation to the surface and above all to specify the number of stone(s) to position. Depending on the number of stones and the diameter selected, the tool calculates, in the Gap between stones (shaded area), the maximum, minimum and average distance. If the stones touch each other the gap will be negative.

The direction of the curve can be reversed by clicking on .

In the case of a circle or ellipse, an angle can be specified for the positioning (rotation) of the first stone in the direction of the curve (in SOLIDWORKS a circle or ellipse always has a starting point).

Check the box Housing is used to generate the machining functions in the component.

For each stone diameter, a specific color is assigned. This allows you to have an overview of the set thus created. It is possible, however, to work with the color of the stone material, in this case you must check the option Color of the Material. A name for the crimp can be specified Name of the Macro.

For each setting, a folder, grouping the stones, is thus created in the construction tree. The name of the stones includes the name, the diameter and the material.

In the component impacted by the crimping, we find a function by crimping (not editable) generating the machinings for the stones housings.
