Decline configurations and replace referenced documents
Operation possible on drawings.
This operation enables :
- Decline a new document (layout) by configuration in a specified directory.
- Then replace the referenced documents with the new ''mono-configuration'' documents created by the '' operation.Decline configurations and replace components''.
The naming rule :
The operation does not open the documents in SOLIDWORKS unless the declinations do not exist beforehand.
Example :
I complete the same example covered in chapter ''.Decline configurations and replace componentsby adding the condition and operation to process the drawings. I add the drawings to be processed to the file selection.
These layouts are given explicit names (1-hole square, 2-hole square, etc.). However, the reference points to the "multi-configurations" file, and it is in the view properties that the configuration used is declared.
- Step 1: I define the condition "If the plan references a particular component" in the specified folder "E:\...\RPE\BIB" containing components using multiple configurations.
- Step 2: I set up an operation to save each component with the specified name. In this example, the files saved will be "Name" followed by "Configuration name".
Important: the directory defined in the condition must be identical to the location of the referenced documents.
As soon as processing is complete, I can see that the references now point to the "mono-configuration" files renamed with the renaming rule defined.
A processing report can be displayed, specifying successful and unsuccessful operations.
