In a surface working context, SOLIDWORKS offers no solution for ''cut'' surfaces. It is possible to sew several surface bodies together to form a single body, but the reverse is not directly possible.

It is necessary to go through several manipulations using different functions SOLIDWORKS :

  • Duplicate the surfaces you wish to ''.detach'' by selecting them all and using either the sewing function or the surface offset function, forcing an offset value of 0 mm.
  • Hide the resulting surface body superimposed on the original one.
  • Delete duplicate faces on the original body by selecting them all again.
  • Reappear the created surface body.

The aim of the utility is to provide the user with an interface that enables him to perform all these functions automatically and transparently.

Attention : when the 3D model evolves, there is no automatic update of the geometries generated by the tool. To update the information, simply relaunch the tool.

The interface offers two '' modescut'' :

As you make selections, the UnsewBody indicates the number of bodies created.

It is possible to set certain options.

Body naming A name is automatically assigned to the bodies created. These bodies are stored in a folder that is also named.
