Once the connection is established, you must define the root folder in which to publish documents by clicking on this button:


 


All you have to do is select the shared folder and then click OK.


The interface also allows you to create folders directly by clicking on:

Structure of the file name and/or file path


It is also possible to change the name or build a tree structure using PDM variables.


To build a tree structure, simply use the Variable Concatenation tool

The field will then contain the PDM variables and \ characters to automatically generate subfolders:

 


In the default example above, the file will be published in a structure like this:

SharePoint site\Folder containing the published file/File name with extension


The published file will automatically contain the extension even if it is not specified for the generation name.

For example, if the published document is a SOLIDWORKS drawing, the . slddrw file extension will be added automatically.

Also, if the document that is automatically found using the "Find File from Source File" option is a PDF document, the published file will automatically have a PDF extension.



Mapping of PDM/SharePoint Variables

You can assign a value to a SharePoint variable using PDM variable values:


 


Simply enter the name of the SharePoint field and the name of the PDM variable to use using the Variable Concatenation tool, then click Add:


 


If the SharePoint field does not exist, it will be automatically created by the Publish operation.

AttentionFor the field to be created automatically, it is necessary to have the right Sites.Manage.All on the corresponding SharePoint tenant.

If you do not have these permissions, you must ask the SharePoint administrator to create these fields.
