This tab will enable us to restructure the databases and make certain corrections to facilitate migration to a 3DEXPERIENCE database.

  • Repairing lost dependencies

This feature will enable us to repair dependencies that may have been lost when moving or renaming a file without using SOLIDWORKS or myCADtools, via CTRL+C/CTRL+V for example.

The tool will therefore analyze all external dependencies and redirect all references to the right documents.

Of course, the files must be in the database you are analyzing in the FindDocuments settings:

  • Remove diacritical marks

This feature will enable us to remove accents or other characters not taken into account in 3DEXPERIENCE and replace them with other characters.

This option automatically replaces common accents. It does not replace specific signs such as $-.

This option allows you to customize the replacement table and add special characters.

  • Rename documents without losing reference links

This feature allows you to rename components, through one or more naming rules, without losing the references in the reference links.

For the naming rule we use field generation tool. You can also retrieve a variable and apply a recovery option

It is possible to apply the :

- over the entire base defined in FindDocument Service

- on a list of CSV files

- on one or more specific files

  • Decline configurations and replace references

This feature allows you to create a new document by configuration, and to replace references in assemblies and drawings.

We usefield concatenation tool  to retrieve variable values from SOLIDWORKS, Windows, etc...

The file(s) selected must be present in the database analyzed in the  FindDocuments service settings

Example :

All variations will be saved in the '' directory.D:\Samples myCADtools 2021\Declinason''.

The generated name will be composed of the "File name-Configuration name".

The file configurations created will be calledFault"

The plans will be taken into account with a naming that will be "File name-Decline"

  • Replacing a component

This feature allows you to replace one component by another in all references where this component is present.

The replaced component and the replacing component must be present in the database analyzed in the  FindDocuments service settings

Example:

The operation will replace the "090-Internal housing, right"by the component090-Interior housing, left".
